Gwinnett , Paulding, Stephens, Douglas and Carroll County schools closed

ATLANTA -- Severe storms and flooding have closed four area school systems.

Gwinnett County Schools closed for the day just after 8:00AM.

Paulding County, Douglas County, Carroll County and Stephens County Schools are all closed Monday morning.

In Paulding County, several streets are flooded. School district leaders want 12-month employees to report to work at 10:00a.m.

In Douglas County, school leaders want 12-month employees to report to work if they are able to get there.

In  Stephens County, flood waters wiped out some water lines that supply the county. The water outages include some schools. Other schools are flooded. All schools in the county are closed Monday.

District leaders are asking 12-month employees to report to work when and if they are able.

Crews are trying to fix the water line problem and restore service to schools by Tuesday morning, but they do not know if service will be restored by then. Stay tuned to 11Alive News Today and 11Alive News throughout the day for updates.
