Orlando, Fla. -- Georgia Tech's Juan Melian finished off his weekend at the USTA Clay Court Invitational Sunday on a high note, defeating Florida's Billy Federhofer in straight sets at Disney's Wide World of Sports.

The senior from Las Palmas, Spain captured a 6-4, 6-4 victory over the Gator senior in the consolation bracket of the Gold Draw, completing his weekend and his fall season with two straight wins to improve to 6-3 this fall.

Meanwhile sophomore Eduardo Segura and freshman Nathan Rakitt bowed out in consolation matches in the Garnet Draw. Rakitt fell in three sets to Florida Atlantic's Jose Fantova, 2-6, 6-3, 1-0 (11-9), while Rakitt dropped a straight-set decision to Gage Brymer of Irvine, Calif.

Tech has completed its fall schedule with the exception of Juan Spir and Vikram Hundal, who will compete in the USTA/ITA National Collegiate Indoor Chanpionships next weekend at the Billie Jean National Tennis Center in Flushing Meadow, N.Y.
