Foxborough, MA (Sports Network) - Kelyn Rowe came off the bench to spark the New England Revolution to a 2-0 win over the Chicago Fire at Gillette Stadium on Saturday, recording a goal and an assist to help the Revs snap a 10-game winless streak in league play against the Fire.

Heavy rain throughout the match made for a sloppy affair in which New England didn't really threaten the Fire net until the 65th minute.

Chicago was the more dangerous team for the first hour of the match as Gonzalo Segares watched his header from Pavel Pardo's free kick come back off the post in the 17th minute.

It was the lone bright spot for either side in the first half, while New England goalkeeper Matt Reis was saved by the woodwork again after the break with Dominic Oduro nodding a ball off the post.

The Revs badly needed a change in momentum and one arrived in the 64th minute with the introduction of Rowe.

He immediately had a chance one minute after stepping onto the field that was snuffed out by a good save from goalkeeper Sean Johnson.

But just a few minutes later, Rowe opened the scoring with a nice ball from Benny Feilhaber that he slotted past Johnson after making a cutting run through the middle of the back line.

Rowe and Feilhaber combined once more to double the lead in the 73rd as they worked a one-two on the right wing with Feilhaber taking the return pass inside the area and beating Johnson at his near post.

New England was clearly on the front foot at this point and Saer Sene nearly scored for the Revs one minute later, but was denied by a fine stop from Johnson.

Chicago has lost three of its last four games, while New England won for the fourth time in six homes matches.
