Jaguars place Shorts, two others on IR

Jacksonville, FL (Sports Network) - Prior to their season finale against the Tennessee Titans, the Jacksonville Jaguars have placed wide receiver Cecil Shorts, running back Rashad Jennings and linebacker Greg Jones on injured reserve.

Shorts turned in a stellar sophomore campaign for Jacksonville, catching a team-leading seven touchdowns among his 55 receptions. He also leads the Jaguars with 979 receiving yards.

With Maurice Jones-Drew sidelined much of the season, Jennings headed the Jaguars' rushing attack and received the bulk of the carries. He totaled 283 yards and two touchdowns on 101 carries over 10 games.

Jones appeared in six games for Jacksonville this season, registering four tackles.

In other roster news, the Jaguars promoted wide receiver Jerrell Jackson from the practice squad and claimed offensive lineman Mark Asper and tight end Allen Reisner from the Minnesota Vikings.
