Charlotte, NC (Sports Network) - The Carolina Panthers announced on
Wednesday that defensive tackle Andre Neblett has been suspended for the first
four games of the upcoming season by the National Football League for a
violation of its policy on performance-enhancing substances.
The 24-year-old is a third-year pro out of Temple. He totaled 23 tackles and 2
1/2 sacks in 12 games (four starts) for the Panthers in 2011.
Neblett will not be eligible to return to the active roster on October 1, but
is allowed to participate in all preseason activities.
Carolina plays at Tampa Bay, hosts New Orleans and the Giants, then heads to
Atlanta on September 30.
