Rose returns for Bulls

New York, NY (Sports Network) - Chicago Bulls point guard Derrick Rose made his return to the lineup Sunday afternoon in a game against the New York Knicks.

Rose had missed the last 12 games due to a groin injury. Before Sunday, the last game he played was against the Knicks on March 12. The Bulls went 8-4 in his absence.

Rose is just the fifth player in league history to miss as many as 20 games as the NBA's reigning Most Valuable Player. He has missed 22 games this season. On the year, Chicago has posted a record of 15-7 without Rose.

So far this season, Rose is averaging 22.8 points, eight assists and 3.5 rebounds a game.
