TUCKER, Ga. -- The AJC Peachtree Road Race can be an inspiration to people, to change their lives for the better.

Two sisters from Tucker made a pact with each other on June 15, 2012, just before they walked (not ran) their first Peachtree.

Voula and Vasha Giannnakopoulos told me they simply decided to go on a physician-supervised diet and exercise program, determined to be really in shape for their second Peachtree in 2013.

I met Voula and Vasha on June 27, 2013, in Voula's home.  They were beaming.  Their results are amazing.  And they are walking stronger, faster and farther.  They will start jogging, soon.  And they're setting even bigger health and fitness goals.

They are an inspiration, just like the road race that helped get them started and helped them stay on track all year.

Here they are, in this brief video, in their own words.
