Fayetteville, AR (Sports Network) - B.J. Young scored 25 points in 27 minutes
to lead the Arkansas Razorbacks to a 73-60 victory over the Tennessee
Volunteers in a Southeastern Conference matchup at Bud Walton Arena.
Young went 9-of-15 from the floor as Arkansas (13-8, 4-4 SEC) snapped its two-
game losing streak. Marshawn Powell contributed 12 points and Hunter Mickelson
produced 10 points and four steals in the winning effort.
Jarnell Stokes registered a double-double of 18 points and 10 rebounds for
Tennessee (11-9, 3-5), which saw its brief two-game winning streak come to an
end. Kenny Hall tallied 14 points and Josh Richardson got into the mix with 11
points thanks to a 5-of-5 performance at the charity stripe.
Arkansas managed to take a 35-25 lead into the intermission by hitting 42.4
percent of its field goal attempts and 5-of-6 at the charity stripe before the
break. The Volunteers actually made 42.9 percent of their field goal tries in
the opening 20 minutes, but they attempted 12 less shots and failed to sink a
shot from distance.
While both teams attempted 27 shots after halftime, the Razorbacks went 15-
of-27 from the field to register three more makes than the visitors.
Tennessee enjoyed a 38-31 edge in the rebounding battle, but it was not enough
to overcome its 20 turnovers or 2-of-10 clip from 3-point range.
