Carbondale, IL (Sports Network) - Walt Lemon, Jr. scored 20 points for the
Bradley Braves as they claimed a 66-60 win over the Southern Illinois Salukis
in a Missouri Valley Conference bout at the SIU Arena.
Lemon, Jr. was 8-of-11 from the floor and recorded five steals for Bradley
(10-4, 2-0 MVC), which has now won four of its last six. Dyricus Simms-Edwards
pulled down seven rebounds while he and Jordan Prosser added 11 points each.
Desmar Jackson scored 15 points and added nine rebounds for SIU (7-6, 0-2),
which has lost four of its last five games. Jeff Early contributed 11 points,
seven rebounds, and four steals, while Anthony Beane Jr. scored 10 points.
Bradley took a 28-23 lead into halftime after holding the Salukis to just 28
percent shooting from the floor in the first half.
The second half saw much more scoring action, with both teams shooting over 55
percent from the field, but Bradley was able to hold on to its advantage.
The Braves won despite committing a game-high 17 turnovers.
