Waikoloa, Hawai'i -- Anders Albertson and Ollie Schniederjans each fired a 3-under-par 69 Friday to lead Georgia Tech, which closed with a flourish and tied for fourth place at the Amer Ari Invitational.

Bo Andrews had an eagle and a birdie in his final four holes, while freshman Michael Hines birdied four of his final five holes, giving each player a 1-over-par 73 and helping Tech post a 4-under-par 284. That score was bettered by only two other teams Friday.

Fourth-ranked UCLA and third-round leader Washington waged a battle for the team title Friday, and they ended up sharing it with a 22-under-par total of 842. The Bruins shot a 3-under-par 285 score for the day and had a late three-stroke lead, but the 7th-ranked Huskies had a closing flurry to forge the tie. Each team had three individuals finish in the top 15.

TCU (-15) finished third after a 7-under 281 Friday, followed by Tech, 9th-ranked Southern California and No. 2 Texas, each with 14-under-par totals of 850 for the tournament. No. 13 Stanford (-12) was seventh, followed by No. 25 Auburn (-10) and No. 14 Oklahoma State (-9) in the 20-team field.

"We had a chance for a low one today and didn't quite get there," said Tech head coach Bruce Heppler. "Bo and Michael each shot 73 after being +4 with five or six holes, left which is very positive. If Ollie and Anders continue to play like they did today, we can contend with the very elite teams. There are a lot of positives for us heading into Puerto Rico."

Albertson birdied four holes in his closing round and tied for 10th place, his first top-10 of the year after securing three top-20 showings in the fall. The sophomore from Woodstock, Ga., nearly played the final 36 holes bogey-free before posting one on his finishing hole.

Auburn's Dominic Bozzelli captured medalist honors at 11-under-par 205, two strokes clear of Washington's Trevor Simsby (-9). Bozzelli shot 67 Friday to jump from third place, while Simsby closed with a 69. Stanford's Steven Kearney led the Cardinal charge Friday with a 67 and finished in a four-way tie for fourth.

Tech's other five players all finished among the top 40 individuals in the 116-player field. Hines tied for 26th place at 1-under 215, while Andrews, Schniederjans and Richard Werenski, who shot 75 Friday, tied for 34th place at even-par 144 along with freshman Shun Yat Hak, who was playing as an individual.

Tech returns to action Feb. 17-19 at the Puerto Rico Classic in Rio Grande, Puerto Rico.
