Macon, Ga. -- Ollie Schniederjans fired a 5-uner-par 67 Sunday, and Richard Werenski added a 4-under-par 68 and helped 15th-ranked Georgia Tech to a runner-up finish at the Brickyard Collegiate golf tournament.

Tech posted its best score of the weekend, a 5-under-par 283, to finish 54 holes at 2-under-par 862. Anders Albertson shot an even-par 72, and Seth Reeves added a 76 for the Yellow Jackets' other counting scores.

Only Tech and Georgia finished the event under par as a team on the 7,175-yard, par 72 Brickyard at Riverside Course. The fourth-ranked Bulldogs completed a wire-to-wire victory with an 8-under-par 280 Sunday, and posted a tournament score of 848 (-16). Three of Georgia's counting players finished in the top 10 individually.

North Florida finished third at 865 (+1), followed by Chattanooga and Virginia Tech, who tied for fifth at 867 (+3). The Mocs posted the best team round of the weekend with an 11-under-par 277.

"Ollie and Richy played really well today and gave us two great scores," said head coach Bruce Heppler. "Anders fought back from a tough start, but we just couldn't get a fourth score today, and Georgia played extremely well. We've got one event left this fall and we need to get ready for that."

Georgia State's Jonathan Grey shared medalist honors with Georgia's Sam Straka, who was competing as an individual and did not count toward the Bulldogs' team total, at 8-under-par 208.

Schniederjans finished alone in fifth place with a 5-under-par score of 211, and Anders Albertson tied for 14th place at 1-under 215. Reeves tied for 35th at 221 (+5), while Werenski tied for 46th (223) and Andrews tied for 50th at 224.

Tech had two players competing as individuals - freshman Michael Hines tied for 31st place at 220 after shooting 74 Sunday, while sophomore Drew Czuchry tied for 42nd at 222 following a closing 75.

Tech returns to action the weekend of Oct, 19-21, when it hosts the annual United States Collegiate Championship at the Golf Club of Georgia in Alpharetta.
