ROSWELL, Ga. -- Dean and Lauren Judson of Roswell went through a nightmare in October of 2010.  Now the two college students are carrying on the legacy of their late parents good works.

Jim Judson loved flying, and he piloted the small plane carrying him and wife Beth to Mississippi to watch daughter Lauren play in a college golf event.  When departing for home, they crashed on takeoff, killing both.

"In December (of 2010) my coach talked to me about maybe starting a tournament to help me, my brother, our friends, with the healing process" says Lauren.  Their parents always said, go big, or go home.  They're definitely going big.

On July 15th they will host a charity event at their parents home course, the Country Club of Roswell.  The Judson Collegiate Invitational and the Legends Tour Atlanta PRO-AM will pair college players like Lauren with legends of the LPGA Tour.

Long time Atlanta resident Rosie Jones will play, as will Nancy Lopez and many other recognizable names.  "It's such an awesome story, what these kids are doing" said Jones recently at the club in Roswell.

PGA Professional and family friend Jackie Cannizzo is the tournament director.  "These are great kids, they just do the right thing."

The event is fully sponsored so all the proceeds go to Children's Healthcare of Atlanta.  For more information go to
