RINGGOLD, Ga. -- A child molestation suspect from Catoosa County killed himself during a police standoff Wednesday night.

NBC affiliate WRCB-TV in Chattanooga said 63-year-old Alonzo Hood Sr. was wanted on charges of child molestation and aggravated sexual battery.
At around 3 p.m. Wednesday, Catoosa County Animal Control officials arrived at Casaloma Trail in Ringgold to pick up a stray dog. Hood spotted the officers and shot at them.
Police officers arrived at the scene and Hood fired at them as well. No one was hurt.
The standoff lasted until shortly after 9:30 p.m., when Hood took his own life.
