DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. -- One person suffered moderate injuries in a two-alarm fire in DeKalb County Wednesday morning.
The fire broke out at around 5:30 a.m. at the Brannon Hill apartments on Baynes Hill Drive in Clarkston.
DeKalb County Fire Capt. Eric Jackson said responding firefighters immediately took action and managed to contain the blaze after it had consumed half of one 20-unit building. That building suffered smoke and fire damage.
While the affected building and a neighboring one were evacuated, one resident of a downstairs apartment was taken to a nearby hospital with what Jackson described as moderate, non-life-threatening injuries.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
