VIDETTE, Ga. -- Georgia Insurance and Safety Fire Commissioner Ralph Hudgens is investigating a fire that killed two people Saturday evening.
The fire broke out at around 8:20 p.m. at a house on South College Avenue in Vidette, about 40 miles southwest of Augusta.
Hudgens said the house was completely destroyed. The bodies of 19-year-old Quantovian Adams and his 65-year-old uncle, George Powell, were recovered from the home.
The cause of the fire is under investigation. Hudgens said the bodies were sent to the GBI Crime Lab in Decatur for autopsies.
Hudgens' office is working with Burke County Fire and Rescue and the Burke County Sheriff's Office to investigate the fire.
