ATLANTA - Just a little bit of ice on wires and tree limbs can cause big problems that can lead to outages running for days.

Georgia Power's crews are preparing for a rough couple of days ahead.

Power trucks and crews are staged and awaiting the call from Georgia Power to go where they are needed. The crews have come in from all over the region - from Florida, Alabama and other area - to help Georgia.

"There's 1,400 crews in Georgia," said one technician. "So, there's quite a bit of trucks and equipment. We're ready to go."

After driving in from out of state, the crews will be working 16-hour shifts, making sure you're safe and your power stays on.
