A Gwinnett County woman got a big surprise when she called a government-provided number about her child care services and was connected to a phone sex hotline.

Single mom Courtney Greene says she needs a little help getting back on her feet. But when she recently called Georgia's Childcare and Parent Services program, she got more than she bargained for.

"When I called the provided phone number, it was incorrect and I got a phone sex hotline instead of the DHS office," said Greene.

Greene says she redialed the number at least four times.

"It's like, 'Chat with hotties. Guys, chat with girls," Green said.

Greene also went online and called the number on the Georgia Compass website, but still got the runaround.

The department said it had no idea about the problem until 11Alive contacted them. An investigation was launched and DFACS sent a letter apologizing for the mistake.

DFCS told us the case manager incorrectly typed 4246 -- the sex phone hotline -- instead of 4746. The letters went to 55 people in Gwinnett County.

A spokesperson for the Department of Early Care and Learning calls the error "unintentional" but "unacceptable" and said "DFCS will be held accountable for this serious error."

Greene said the deadline for her completed paperwork is this Sunday, but she's still waiting for a call back.
