Atlanta police spokeswoman Kim Jones said police obtained a search warrant for the house after seeing Kirkland and his girlfriend enter. Because Kirkland has a history of violence, a SWAT team was called in to arrest him.
Kirkland faces charges of murder, robbery and aggravated assault in the December 30, 2013 killing of the owner of the Deja Vu club on Joseph Boone Boulevard.
Jones said two other men inside the house were taken to Atlanta police headquarters for questioning by the Homicide and Gang Unit.
While they believe he may be the ringleader behind several ATM smash and grabs over the past several months, police are not being specific about which cases while the search for other suspects continues.
