ATLANTA -- After eight years in business, an Old Fourth Ward hangout known for its moonshine is saying goodbye.
P'cheen International Bistro & Pub on Highland Avenue plans to close for good on Feb. 9, say its owners.
Restaurateur Bernard Moussa of Woodfire Grill is buying the business and turning it into a cocktail-driven restaurant and bar.
"Nothing about it is easy," said Alex Friedman, P'cheen chef and co-owner. He runs Atlanta restaurant group Georgiaville Food Co. with Keiran Neely and Mike LaSage. The trio also owns Pizzeria Vesuvius, Edgewood Speakeasy and Bone Lick BBQ.

"It was our baby. It was our first restaurant. It's sad to see it go," Friedman said.
But it's a good business decision, he said, because a large redevelopment project is bringing several new restaurants to the area.
The "280 Elizabeth St." project has signed leases with Chef Ford Fry, MF Sushi and Barteca Restaurant Group (which owns Barcelona Wine Bar). Both Fry and Barteca are opening new concepts at the $46 million development that includes 200 luxury apartments and almost 40,000 square feet of retail. It's set to finish construction in early 2015.
"That corner right there is about to explode with some heavy hitters," Friedman said. "In a year, we are not going to be the newest kid on the block."
He said Georgiaville Food Co. sees more growth potential in its three remaining businesses.
Upon P'cheen shuttering, Friedman will switch his focus to Pizzeria Vesuvius on Edgewood Avenue. There, he plans to revamp the menu.
"I'm going to be bringing a lot of my flavors to Vesuvius," he said, said as P'cheen's Thai grilled chicken wings and its moonshine.
Friedman also wants to expand the food options at the Edgewood Speakeasy.
