ATLANTA -- Much of the ice that plagued metro Atlanta this week has melted, which means MARTA is almost completely back up and running.
MARTA announced Friday morning that it has restored most of its bus and rail service.
Buses began running at 4 a.m. and will stay on the roads until 2 a.m. Saturday. MARTA Mobility service is also available Friday.
Rail service began at 5 a.m. and will end at 1:30 a.m. Saturday. MARTA spokesman Lyle Harris said average wait times for train arrivals will range from 10 to 30 minutes, so customers are asked to be patient and allow extra time for their trips.
MARTA's Blue and Green line trains will make complete trips to their end-of-line stations. Red Line customers trying to get from the North Springs station to the Atlanta airport must transfer to the Gold Line at Lindbergh Center to complete their trips.
