ALBANY, Ga. -- Officials in Albany said a 16-year-old student was shot near Albany High School Friday afternoon.
11Alive's Albany sister station WALB says the student was shot in the arm by what they called a small caliber weapon. The shooting happened along Tift Avenue, outside of the school's campus.
The victim was taken to Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital for treatment. Officials said the injuries were not expected to be life-threatening.
