A Utah girl got stuck in a stackable washing machine while playing hide-and-seek.

SOUTH JORDAN, UT -- An 11-year-old girl thought she found the ultimate hide-and-seek location. But when she couldn't get out of the washing machine, firefighters had to help her escape.

Her mom captured photos of the entire ordeal.

Nicole Rhoades said it started when her competitive daughter had her cousins over. "They decided to have a fun game of hide and seek," Rhoades said. "She really wanted to win."

When her older daughter called, she could hear screaming in the background.

"At some point, they had tried butter, peanut butter, ice," Rhoades said.

They called 911 and South Jordan firefighters.  "They got out some gas power tools, and some big snips to get people out of cars," Rhoades said.  "They were thinking they were going to have to cut down the middle of the washer, and open it up to get her out."

Firefighters were able to remove the stacked dryer and only had to cut a small portion to allow the door to open.

The girl was bruised, but her mom says it was mostly a bruised ego.

"Afterwards, we laughed about it. She's been laughing about it." And, she won that game of hide-and-seek. None of the other kids thought to look inside the dryer.

"That's what I tell her, you're the best at hide and seek, ever."
