According to Hall County Sheriff's spokesperson Mark Mitchell, around 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, deputies responded to a 911 hang-up call in the 6000 block of River Hill Drive in Flowery Branch.
When deputies made contact with Mark Fyfe at the home, he told them his 21-year-old son Kevin made the call. When deputies asked to speak with Kevin, Mark Fyfe closed the door and refused requests made by the officers to check if all was okay.
Kevin Fyfe was eventually questioned and released. He will not be charged.
Officers checked around the home and found Alan Fyfe lying in the backyard with a gunshot wound. Fyfe was transported to the Northeast Georgia Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.
Mark Fyfe has been charged with murder, obstruction and interfering with government property. He is being held without bond in the Hall County Jail.
