LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. -- Two men have been arrested in connection with an armed robbery which took place last month.
After receiving multiple tips, detectives were able to identify two subjects as Raymond Meadows, 40, and Ralph Meadows, 41. Both have been charged with armed robbery.
Ralph Meadows has also been charged with aggravated assault. The suspects are brothers.
On November 16, the two men went to Zone Electronics at the Pendergrass Flea Market located in Pendergrass, Georgia. The suspects visited the business and spoke with the owner several times over a period of several hours. The owner closed the store at 5:00 PM and drove to his home in unincorporated Suwanee.
The victim arrived home and parked in his driveway. Before he was able to exit his vehicle, someone began knocking loudly on the outside. The victim saw a male standing outside of his vehicle armed with a shotgun. He immediately recognized the suspect as one of the two men acting suspiciously in his store earlier in the day. The suspect demanded money, which the victim provided. The suspect was not satisfied with the amount. He demanded more money and fired a shot into the floorboard of the victim's vehicle. The victim provided more cash and the suspect fled to a waiting vehicle.
The vehicle used in the crimes was a black Kia Forte. Detectives obtained a partial tag from surveillance video. The vehicle and partial tag matched a vehicle which was rented out by Ralph Meadows during the time of the robbery.
The suspects were taken into custody without incident and transported to the Gwinnett County Detention Center. They remain in custody without bond.
