US Rep. to speak at UGA Martin Luther King event

ATHENS, Ga. (AP) - U.S. Rep. David Scott is scheduled to deliver the keynote address at the University of Georgia's 11th annual Martin Luther King Jr. Freedom Breakfast.

The breakfast is scheduled for Jan. 17 at the Tate Student Center and will also feature the university president's Fulfilling the Dream Award, which recognizes local citizens for exemplary community service.

Scott serves on several congressional committees including the Financial Services Committee and the NATO Parliamentary Assembly.

The Democratic congressman represents several areas in the metro Atlanta region including parts of Cobb, Clayton, Douglas, Fayette, Fulton and Henry counties.
