GAINESVILLE, Ga. -- A Hall County jury found Paul Bennett guilty on 4 of 13 counts against him in connection with the deaths of two brothers on Lake Lanier last year.
Bennett was found guilty of one counts of boating under the influence, two counts of reckless operation and failure to stop and render aid after an accident.
He was found not guilty on nine other charges, including charges of homicide by vessel in the case.
The judge sentenced Bennett to two and half years in jail and one and a half years probation.
Prosecutors said Bennett's boat killed the two Prince brothers -- 9-year-old Jake and 13-year-old Griffin -- on Lake Lanier in an accident in June, 2012.
The judge presiding over the trial removed a member of the jury from the case after they used the Internet to try finding out more about legal penalties Bennett could potentially face.
