LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. -- A suspected gunman is on the run after a deadly shooting at a birthday party in Gwinnett County on Sunday night.

Investigators believe 40-year-old Ohave Whitfield shot and killed 53-year-old Alicia Johnson and injured her daughter, 31-year-old Dana Johnson. He left the scene in a teal green Volvo S80 with Georgia tag number PRI-4493.

The victims were found in the garage of a home in the 2100 block of Crystal Lake Drive near Lawrenceville Highway.

Gwinnett County Police Cpl. Jake Smith said Whitfield may be on his way to Louisiana.

Police said the shooting happened during a birthday party. A bounce house on the front lawn was surrounded by police tape as part of the crime scene.

Police could hear gunfire in the background during the 911 call, which came in around 6 p.m. on Sunday.

Police described the shooting as a case of "aggravated domestic violence." They did not describe the relationship between the suspect and the victims.
