ALPHARETTA, Ga. -- Olympic bobsledder Elana Meyers isn't just thinking about winning another medal in 2014. She has even bigger plans coming after the Olympics.
Meyers and fiance Nic Taylor are planning their wedding for April 2014, two months after the Winter Games in Sochi.
"I have a new respect for wedding planners," said Meyers as she juggles preparations for a wedding and the Olympics.
Four years ago, the Douglasville native was part of the two-woman bobsled team that won the bronze. She didn't celebrate for long.
"Two weeks after that was over," she said, "I was in the trenches trying to learn how to drive."
In Vancouver, Meyers rode the back of the sled. Ever since, she has become a driver, and she kicked off this season's training in Lake Placid as the USA's top driver.
Now, she is gunning for another medal, with the Sochi Olympics mere months away.
"I'm really trying to enjoy it from every aspect," Meyers said. "I'm trying to enjoy my whole life: my life as a bobsledder, as a student-athlete, and now as an engaged athlete."
