ATLANTA -- The DOT has raised the speed limit on the southside of Atlanta to 65 miles per hour, and changes are coming to the northside.
The speed limit changed south of I-20 Friday.
Next October, the DOT will institute a variable speed north of I-20 on the perimeter. The speed limit will vary from a low of 45 miles per hour up to 65. Digital signs will notify drivers of changes that will go up or down depending on conditions.
