SANDY SPRINGS, Ga. -- Authorities have arrested a suspect who they say rammed two Sandy Springs police vehicles on Monday evening.

The incident happened shortly before 7 p.m. in a parking lot of The Prado shopping center on Roswell Road.
According to police, officers were investigating a possible stolen car and when they approached the car, the driver rammed the officers and fled the scene. Officers fired shots at the the oncoming car, hitting the driver.
Tuesday morning, the suspect as identified as 18-year-old Collin Lee Daves. Sandy Springs Police Capt. Steve Rose said Daves later wrecked the car on Interstate 285 and abandoned it there.
Police recovered the car and later located Daves at St. Joseph's Hospital with a gunshot wound to the leg. Authorities say the suspect's injuries are non life-threatening and that he will remain in custody.
Daves faces a number of charges, including aggravated assault.
