RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) -- Emergency crews are on the scene of an incident at the North Carolina State Fair.
A medical officer said five passengers of a ride were ejected while exiting the ride. The official said all five were initially unconscious but three regained consciousness.
A WNCN crew said an ambulance left the grounds escorted by police. Emergency responders could be seen with stretchers near the Vortex ride.
Witness Caleb Norris told WNCN he heard a crashing sound just after exiting the Vortex ride. Norris said he turned around and saw two people face down.
Norris also said he saw the ride operator fall to his knees and start crying. Shortly after, EMS rushed in to assist those injured.
