ROSWELL, Ga. -- Roswell police said a lockdown of two schools was lifted shortly before noon Friday. The schools had been placed on lockdown during the search for a burglary suspect in the area.

Police said the home invasion happened at about 9 a.m., in the 500 block of Hembree Grove Overlook. They said the suspect broke into the back door of a home there, and tied up the person inside.

Investigators said the suspect is described as a black male, about 6 feet tall with a scruffy beard.

They said two schools -- Hembree Springs Elementary School and Elkins Pointe Middle School -- had been placed on lockdown as a precaution during their search.

Police remain in the area, and are continuing their investigation.
