ATLANTA, Ga. -- The passenger of a car involved in an officer-involved shooting is in stable condition at Atlanta Medical Center - South following a traffic stop on Monday evening.
According to Atlanta Police, the shooting happened earlier on University Avenue in SW Atlanta. Authorities spotted a car driving erratically near the intersection of University Avenue and Pryor Road.
Authorities say the suspect injured the officer while tying to flee the traffic stop and the responding officer fired his weapon at the car striking the passenger in the shoulder.
The driver was apprehended the officers, close to the scene. No further information on how the passenger was able to transport himself to the hospital.
