Publix to open first Rome location on Wednesday

ROME, Ga. -- Rome residents are invited to join Mayor Evie McNiece in welcoming Publix Super Markets to the neighborhood. 

On Wednesday morning, Publix will be opening of it's first store in Rome at Charles Hight Square, which is located at 435 Turner McCall Boulevard. 

"We are proud to bring the Publix shopping experience to Rome," said Brenda Reid, media and community relations manager for Publix. 

"Our associates and the stellar customer service they provide, quality product selection and competitive prices are the combination which set us apart from the competition."

In a press release, the store is described as a "54,600 square-foot store, with approximately 145 associates."

Publix will be offering incentives to neighbors who attend the grand opening festivities which begin at 6:45 a.m.  The first 25 customers who purchase $50 or more in groceries will receive a free bag of groceries.
