  • SUWANEE, Ga -- Three newspapers sit in the driveway of the Suwanee home of Woo Yi and Hyun Yi. The latest edition's headline reads "Warrants: Couple Told Kids to Strip." The couple the headline is referring to is the Yi's.

Gwinnett County police went to their home Wednesday after a teenager living with them told an employee her host family had provided her and six other exchange students with alcohol and forced them to strip and touch each other. The students range in age from 15 to 18 years old.

Police said eight exchange students parents, who live in Korea, made arrangements with the Yi's to host their children while they go to school here. "They pay $15,000 to $20,000 for these kids to come and stay at this home to attend whatever school the parents and the child pick," said Corporal Jake Smith.

Woo Ki Yi, 42, and his wife Hyun Ju Yi, 41, are charged with two counts of child molestation and six counts of furnishing alcohol to a minor. The molestation charges are felonies, the others are misdemeanors. Cpl. Smith said there may be more charges because detectives have only interviewed six of the eight exchange students who lived in the home.

Police said on at least four different occasions since July the Yi's coerced the teens into drinking alcohol. "When they became intoxicated they would have them play little games, things like rock, paper, scissors," Cpl. Smith said. "The losers would have to take off an item of clothing."

But it went much further according to Smith. "The male subject in particular would encourage and coerce these kids into kissing and making out and touching each other as well, presumably for the enjoyment of him and his wife," he said.

The Yi's are being held in the Gwinnett County Detention Center without bond. Cpl. Smith said the victims have been placed in temporary homes at the request of their parents in Korea.
