Lanes open after deadly Cobb County accident

KENNESAW, Ga. -- A woman walking along Cobb Parkway in Kennesaw was hit by a car early Thursday morning, and killed in the accident. 

All lanes of Cobb Parkway are open, but police will continue investigating the incident. Investigators say drivers should use Interstate 75 as an alternate route, and use extra caution when traveling through the area.

The woman was struck between Mack Dobbs Road and Pine Mountain Road, in the 2800 block of Cobb Parkway. It happened around 4:00 a.m., according to Officer Scott Luther.

The driver of the car stopped and called 911. Luther said there were no charges pending shortly after the accident.
