The city is known for its ample green space. Brookhaven boasts 11 parks; one of them, Ashford Park, is filled with toys dropped off by parents for local children to enjoy. 11Alive's Jennifer Leslie explores Ashford Park.
It's an extremely popular place to live -- so popular that homes don't stay on the market for long, and often sell for high prices.

Brookhaven is also business friendly. Courtney Lee, who runs gluten-free bakery Southern Table Provisions, had no problem opening a successful shop in town. Jennifer Leslie samples Southern Table Provisions' fare.
But one of Brookhaven's most famous features is Oglethorpe University, a liberal arts college. In addition to tough academics and great sports team, Oglethorpe is home to several performance groups, including Capitol City Opera and Georgia Shakespeare.

A number of Oglethorpe students stopped by Friday's broadcast before class -- or on their way home from enjoying their Thursday night.
And there was plenty of fun to keep the party going. SurfSet Fitness came out to give a demonstration of its unique surfing-inspired workout. One of the morning's funniest moments involved Karyn falling off her surfboard.
