MARIETTA, Ga. -- One man is in custody after intentionally setting fire to a homeless camp early Wednesday morning.
Dispatchers in Cobb County said the flames began around 5:30. The camp was set up off Old Highway 41 near White Circle.
Several tents at the camp caught the flames. According to Cobb Fire spokesperson Denell Boyd, two homeless campers were burned and taken to Grady for treatment. One victim had severe burns.
Officer Mike Bowman said the man will face two counts of Aggravated Battery. His name was not released.
Investigators are working to determine who the fire was started.
