ATLANTA -- Cobb County Sheriff Neil Warren and his chief deputy were taken to Grady Memorial Hospital with minor injuries Thursday afternoon, after a wreck on Interstate 75 just north of the Brookwood Interchange.

Police said the SUV that Warren and Chief Deputy Milton Beck were traveling in was southbound in the HOV lane when a pick-up with markings on it from Environmental Products and Services from Vermont, lost control and veered across all lanes of traffic, striking the SUV.

There is no word as to how many people were in the pick-up, or how many of those persons may have been hurt.

Warren and Beck were taken to Grady with non-life-threatening injuries.

I-75 was reopened after about an hour, and traffic has returned to normal.
