COBB COUNTY, Ga. -- A former grade school principal has been arrested by Cobb County Police for child molestation.

Jack Duane Hibbs, 57, of Marietta was arrested by detectives and charged with four counts of aggravated child molestation.

Hibbs, who was the principal at the private Faith Lutheran School in Marietta, is being held without bond at the Cobb County Adult Detention Center. The school has not released a statement on the matter.

As of Thursday night, Hibbs was still listed on the church's website as the principal of the school.

According to detectives, the male victim, who was 15 years old at the time of the alleged crimes, reported the molestation to police.  They do not have physical evidence of any crime yet, but police were told the crimes happened at the victim's house four times.

A background check on Hibbs shows no prior criminal record or evidence of any sexual offenses.  Prior to coming to Marietta he worked as the principal at a Lutheran School in Boca Raton, Florida.  The principal there now said they are aware of the situation.

"We will be keeping those affected in our prayers, and we will be glad to cooperate if police have any requests, but it's been ten years since he was here and we haven't had any complaints or accusations [from his time here," said Andy Hagen, pastor of Advent Ministries.

Because of Hibbs' position of authority, investigators do not believe this is an isolated incident, and are asking for the public's assistance in helping them to identify any other possible victims.

Anyone with information or who may have direct knowledge regarding Jack Hibb's contact with children is asked to call (770) 801-3470.
