Falcons land No. 26 on Forbes' Most Valuable List

(WXIA) -- Forbes released its annual list of the most valuable NFL Teams Thursday morning and while the top team may not be shocking to some, Atlanta Falcon fans may be surprised to see where their team landed.

Out of the 32 teams in the league, the defending NFC South Champions placed No. 26 on the list, with a team value of $933 million.

Meanwhile the Dallas Cowboys were valued as the league's most valuable team for the seventh straight year, with a worth of $2.3 billion. The New England Patriots and the Washington Redskins followed with values of $1.8 billion and $1.7 billion.

The Oakland Raiders are the least valued franchise, coming in with a value of $825 million.

According to the report, NFL franchises, on average, are worth $1.17 billion, which is a 5% increase from 2012 report. That value tops the average values of the top 20 soccer teams in the world ($968 million), the 30 Major League Baseball teams ($744 million), the 30 NBA teams ($509 million) and the 30 NHL teams ($282 million).
