VARNELL, Ga. (WXIA) -- A small earthquake hit a portion of far northwest Georgia, though it was so small most people, even in the area where it occurred, likely did not feel it.
According to the US Geological Survey, the quake was centered about four miles to the north of Varnell, Ga., near the Tennessee border. The epicenter sits about 145 miles northwest of Atlanta.
The USGS said the magnitude 2.5 earthquake occurred at 4:08 a.m., Eastern Time. No injuries were reported.
