COLLEGE PARK, Ga. -- Friday's rain couldn't dampen spirits in College Park as an enthusiastic crowd gathered in the city's auditorium for a live 11Alive morning show broadcast.
College Park Mayor Jack Longino was on hand to welcome Karyn Greer, Donna Lowry and Chesley McNeil to his wonderful town.

The south Fulton County city is famous for being home to the world's busiest airport, Hartsfield-Jackson.

It also boasts Woodward Academy, the largest private school in the continental U.S., which has been educating students for more than 100 years.

But there is so much more to College Park. 11Alive's Jeremy Campbell dug up five lesser known facts about the town.
Jeremy also visited the College Park Golf Course and met a caddy who's worked there for nearly 70 years.
Friday morning, several talented groups of kids performed on the show. The College Park Tumbleweeds gymnasts flipped through the auditorium.

They were joined by tumblers from KiDsGyM USA, whose high-flying antics delighted everyone in attendance.

A tap-dancing trio from Main Attraction Dance Studios performed an adorable number.

Another dance group -- this one from Price Performing Arts Center -- showed off some hip-hop moves.

But the kids didn't have all the fun. Two students of Grandmaster Moreland's Martial Arts performed a demonstration.

And some fitness buffs from CrossFit College Park were eager to demonstrate burpees, kettlebell workouts and more.

College Park was the 16th stop on the This is Home summer tour. Past visits include Cartersville, Lilburn, Marietta, Decatur/Druid Hills, McDonough, Cumming, Duluth, Powder Springs, Douglasville, Dunwoody, Alpharetta, Downtown Atlanta, Norcross, Dallas and Stockbridge.
