ATLANTA -- The Georgia Dome has some important reminders for Falcon fans as the season gets ready to launch.

If you arrive at the Georgia Dome for the Falcons opening exhibition game Thursday night and you have a camera bag, a book bag, a large pocketbook or a backpack, they will not be allowed in. It's part of a new set of rules imposed by the NFL.

"You can only bring in necessities. If you don't need it leave it in the car or leave it at home," said Jason Kirksey, spokesperson for the Georgia Dome.

If you plan to be one of the 72,000 fans who will be at the Dome for the opening pre-season game, there is one thing to keep in mind---arrive almost empty handed.

Whatever you plan to bring into the stadium, whether it be a camera or personal belongings it all must fit into a 12x12x6 clear plastic bag otherwise it simply will not be allowed in.

"I think the biggest thing that we are going to see is purses. Women are not allowed to bring in anything bigger than the size of their hand," Kirksey said.

But the Falcons will show some mercy for this first game if you bring a banned item.

"We realize it's a new policy and it's new for everyone so we are going to do our best to accommodate everybody we can but this policy is in place not to allow any of this stuff in the building," Kirksey added.

The bottom line for Thursday night at the Georgia Dome is travel light with a clear plastic bag 12x12x6; and for the women, nothing bigger than a small clutch bag.
