SANDY SPRINGS, Ga. -- A private carrier bus caught fire on Interstate 285 in north Fulton County Wednesday morning.
The fire was reported at around 6 a.m. on the eastbound side of the highway near the Chattahoochee River. It was contained to the bus's engine compartment.
Fire officials from Cobb County and Sandy Springs worked together to quickly bring the blaze under control. Sandy Springs Police Capt. Steve Rose said only the driver was aboard the bus at the time. That person was not injured.
Traffic ws backed up for miles near the scene.
