WOODSTOCK, Ga. -- Cherokee County School Board member Kelly Marlow will find herself on the hot seat tonight.

On the agenda at a special called meeting of the Cherokee County School Board is a request for the board to a special Code of Ethics violation hearing regarding Marlow.

Marlow's been in a political battle with Cherokee County School Superintendent Dr. Frank R. Petruzielo, since she won her seat a year ago.

On June 13, police say she took her rivalry to a new level after a board meeting outside a downtown restaurant.

Marlow, her political adviser Robert Trim and Cherokee County Republican Party Secretary Barbara Knowles filed a police report claiming Petruzielo tried to run them over with his SUV while they were crossing the street.

But Canton Police issued arrest warrants charging Marlow, Trim and Knowles with making false statements.

Their attorney says they're sticking to their story.

"My clients believed in what they did, they still believe in what they did and they're going to fight this all the way," said attorney Anthony Morgese.

Petruzielo issued a statement saying, "This is a very serious allegation that has no basis in fact."

The agenda includes a call to conduct on a school board ethics violation. Here's the request:

School Board Chair Janet Read is requesting that a School Board Code of Ethics Violation.

Hearing be conducted regarding a recent action by Board Member Kelly Marlow in violation of School Board Policy: Board Ethics (BH)... specifically, Ms. Marlow's sending correspondence to AdvancEd on June 11, 2013 in violation of Domain 1: Governance Structure, No. 1 and Domain 7: Conduct as a Board Member, No. 4. Ms. Read also is requesting that the School Board Attorney represent the School District at this hearing and procure the services of a hearing officer and a court reporter. Pursuant to Board Policy BH, upon a motion supported by a two-thirds (2/3) vote, the Board may choose to conduct a hearing concerning a possible violation of its Code of Ethics by a member of the Board.
If the motion to conduct a hearing in this regard is approved, Ms. Marlow will be given 30 days' notice prior to the hearing being held. If at this hearing it is
found by a vote of two-thirds of all the members of the Board that Ms. Marlow has violated the Code of Ethics, the Board will determine an appropriate sanction.
