'Top Chef' alum takes over at Abattoir

ATLANTA -- "Top Chef" alum Hector Santiago is the new executive chef of Abattoir, Anne Quatrano's meat-heavy West Midtown spot.

Santiago was the chef/owner of Pura Vida, Super Pan and El Burro Pollo, all of which closed in 2012.

Eater.com recently reported that Quatrano, who opened Bacchanalia in 1993 and was included on Food & Wine's list of "Best New Chef All-Stars 2013," plans to open a project at Ponce City Market in Spring 2014.
