Gainesville was hit hard by Friday's afternoon thunderstorms as fallen trees knocked over power lines and crushed cars.
ATLANTA -- In a trend that will most likely continue throughout the summer months, several thunderstorms popped up Friday afternoon causing damage in and around metro Atlanta.
Trees were reported down in both the city of Atlanta and in much of Cobb County. Gainesville, in particular, was hit hard as fallen trees knocked over power lines and crushed cars.
There were no injuries reported.
More than a dozen work crews were on the scene in Gainesville trying help move the fallen trees and restore power in the neighboring homes.
