MARIETTA, Ga. -- Two people were injured after a garbage truck explosion in Marietta Friday morning.
Later Friday afternoon, Officer David Baldwin of the Marietta Police Department released the names of the two men injured, and how they were hurt.
He said William Smith suffered severe eye injuries to both eyes. He was taken to be treated at Kennestone Hospital, but Baldwin said his condition was not clear.
Marvin Markham took cuts to his face. He was treated and released on the scene.
The explosion happened just before 8 a.m. on Brentwood Drive.
According to dispatchers, the explosion was apparently caused by discarded oxygen tanks.
