ATLANTA -- The Atlanta Track Club's AJC Peachtree Road Race has many traditions.

Among the traditions is the annual t-shirt awarded to the runners when they finish, as well as the secrecy surrounding the design of each year's t-shirt.

Only a relatively few people know what the top-secret design is each year, until runners open their t-shirt gift bags.

About 30 people in a vocational program for the developmentally disabled are among those in the know.  They work for Jewish Family and Career Services, and since Memorial Day they have been packing all 60,000-plus t-shirts into those plastic gift bags.

This is an important tradition for them.  They work from their hearts.  With the pride that comes from a job well done.

I watched, and listened.

And in this video, in their own few and carefully-chosen words, we can all appreciate why the t-shirt tradition of secrecy is safe with them.
